The Spark behind Bright Sparks

I believe that occupational therapy and learning exploration for toddlers should look like play when it’s done right. As an OT, a former teacher, and a mom, I help kids become the best version of themselves by giving them the tools they need to thrive in school, in friendships, in play, and in everyday life. I’ve guided toddlers in play-based learning, worked alongside families to build resilience, and designed programs that combine science, creativity, and connection. The best part of all this? Cheering for block towers with the same awe most people save for fireworks.

Bright Sparks was inspired by my son, Kenzo. He’s a vibrant, zesty toddler who sparkles with curiosity. He’s bold, active, and endlessly inquisitive. In the right environment, he shines. But even at the age of two, I saw how often adults wanted to tone him down to make him easier to manage. I didn’t want to dim his spark. I wanted to celebrate it and channel it.

Bright Sparks Lab is that celebration. It is a place where kids can explore boldly, get hands-on with science, and discover that every “oops” is really a spark for resilience.

🌈 Mission

At Bright Sparks, we believe the best learning happens when children feel joyful, seen, and celebrated for their unique spark. We exist to shift the way kids are viewed — not as learners-in-waiting, but as curious makers and creators already brimming with potential.

For us, success isn’t measured in numbers. It’s in the laughter of a child discovering something new, in the way a parent and child leave feeling more connected, and in the shared sense of wonder that carries families back into their daily lives.

Our non-negotiable values guide everything we do:

  • Curiosity — every question matters.

  • Resilience — mistakes are stepping stones, not setbacks.

  • Connection — between parent and child, and among the community.

  • Joy — because learning is play, and play is learning.

🩷 My Why

I built Bright Sparks Lab to fill a gap. This was the program I wanted for Kenzo but couldn’t find — a place where science and play collide, where “joyful chaos” is honored as real learning. Here, children’s sparks are not just protected but celebrated, and parents walk away knowing the mess and the magic are building lifelong skills.

More than experiments, Bright Sparks is about creating a culture where children shine because they are surrounded by warmth, resilience, and connection. It’s about creating a space where parents feel supported and reminded that joy, connection, and community aren’t extras. They are the very environment that helps kids grow and thrive.
